As part of the 1st Regional Energy Forum Power Central Asia – China 2025, QazaqGaz Science and Technology Center and China National Chemical Engineering International Corporation Limited (CNCECI) signed a technological partnership agreement. The document was signed by Meiir Sheraly, General Director of QazaqGaz Scientific and Technical Center LLP, and Bao Guangdong, Executive Director of CNCECI.

According to the agreement, CNCECI, jointly with ECEC, will develop a preliminary feasibility study (pre-FS) within the framework of a project for the development of Kazakhstan's coal chemical industry, in particular for the implementation of synthesis gas production technology. The preliminary document will be prepared based on publicly available data, with a focus on advanced technologies and up-to-date global expertise.

The implementation of the project will lay the foundation for the development of the coal chemical industry in Kazakhstan. The parties expressed hope that the joint development of the pre-FS will become the first step towards the creation of a new production cluster in Central Asia.

CNCECI is China’s largest industrial engineering company specializing in the design and construction of facilities in the chemical, petrochemical, energy, and oil and gas industries. The company is part of the state-owned China National Chemical Engineering Corporation (CNCEC), which was founded in 1953 in Beijing, and holds an international mandate for the implementation of overseas projects.

ECEC is one of the largest engineering companies in China, founded in 1963. Its services include consulting, engineering, procurement, construction, and project management. ECEC has extensive technical expertise in coal-based ammonia/urea production, methanol, chemical phosphorus, sulfuric acid, titanium dioxide, industrial wastewater treatment, and other fields. In addition, it has strong market competitiveness in the production of syngas-based ethylene glycol.
