As part of the 1st Regional Energy Forum Power Central Asia – China 2025, a technological partnership agreement was signed between QazaqGaz Science and Technology Center and Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd. The agreement was signed by Meiir Sheraly, General Director of QazaqGaz Science and Technology Center LLP, and Zheng Fuqiang, Deputy Chief Engineer of Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering and General Director of its Kazakhstan branch.

The document provides for an in-depth analysis and the development of a concept for the production of high value-added coal chemical products, as well as the technology for synthesis gas production. The parties intend to explore the potential for the development of the coal chemical industry in the country, relying on advanced technological solutions and the experience of the Chinese partner.

Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd. (GPEC) is a subsidiary of Sinopec Engineering Co., Ltd. (SEG), a leading Chinese engineering company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX). Established in 1956, GPEC has implemented more than 1,000 large-scale projects in the petrochemical and coal chemical industries, covering 31 administrative units of China and holding about 50% of the national market for petroleum refining facility design.
