Journal: Bulletin of the Kazakh-British Technical University
Overview: This project examines using hydraulic fracturing techniques to increase reservoir productivity at the Amangeldy field. The research focused on HiWAY's advanced method, which optimises proppant placement to improve hydrocarbon recovery. Mathematical models were developed to evaluate the key parameters of this method and implemented using FracPro software, which allows for detailed modelling and analysis. The data for this study were collected from publicly available sources, including OnePetro and ScienceDirect, which provide a comprehensive overview of current practices and innovations. Additional information was obtained during the dual training at the Amangeldy field, which provided practical knowledge and compared the models with the conditions typical for the field...
Prospects for the development of pipeline gas transport

Issue date: 2024
Journal: Вестник Казахстанско-Британского технического университета
Overview: Due to the global trends in the development of green energy and gas production in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the issues of gasification of the country and gas transport to consumers are becoming particularly relevant. The article provides a historical overview of gas transport, a comparative analysis of various types of gas transport, the advantages of pipeline gas transport, as well as an overview of the development of the gas industry in general and, in particular, issues of gasification and gas transport using the example of the joint-stock company Intergaz Central Asia, which is the national operator of the main gas pipelines of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The issues of gasification of the country, particularly the northern regions and Astana city, were considered...
Microfacies and geochemical features of Upper Devonian carbonate deposits KT-III, eastern side of the Caspian syncline, Kazakhstan

Issue date: 2023
Journal: Oil and Gas
Overview: The deep-lying Devonian deposits of the eastern flank zone of the Pre-Caspian Basin are extensively developed. Upper Devonian reef formations, identified through seismic survey data, are poorly characterised by core samples. Studying the depositional conditions of carbonate sediments, the dominant biota, and reconstructing the diagenetic history allows for the assessment of reservoir potential...
Assessment of the oil and gas mining potential of the subsalt deposits of the eastern side zone of the Caspian basin

Journal: Нефть и газ
Overview: It is assumed that the formation and distribution of the primary petroleum source rock intervals are associated with weakly oxidative conditions of the deep-water shelf and continental slope, as well as with intense subsidence during the Late Devonian to Early Permian period. A comprehensive analysis of the paleogeographic and paleotectonic conditions governing the formation of potential source rock intervals is crucial for seismic facies interpretation and for reconstructing the thermal maturation history...

Overview: Generative potential and thermal maturity for Upper Palaeozoic source rocks from the south-eastern edge of Precaspian Basin were determined using Rock–Eval. A high hydrocarbon source rock generative potential and high degree of thermal maturity for the Lower Permian, Mid-Carboniferous strata have been revealed based on 39 rock samples. TOC values of 0.4–5.5% have been obtained for mature source rocks. Integrated geochemical analysis determined from Rock–Eval studies combined with 1D basin modelling was utilized in order to reconstruct thermal evolution for the Upper Palaeozoic source rocks. Calibrated 1D models for three wells had been constructed to understand petroleum system. For two deep exploration wells (Nur-1 and Tassym SE-1), which penetrated pre-salt strata at the depths of 5.7 and 7 km, respectively, the impact of salt diapirism on timing of maturation was modelled. Type II...
Identification of Source Rocks in Productive Late Paleozoic Carbonate Deposits of the KT-II Interval Based on Oil Biomarker Analysis (Eastern Flank of the Pre-Caspian Syneclise)

Issue date: 2021/4
Journal: Proceedings of the 4th International Geological and Geophysical Conference and Exhibition "GeoEurasia 2021: Geological Exploration in Modern Realities"
Overview: The southeastern and eastern margins of the Pre-Caspian Syneclise are poorly characterised by modern geochemical pyrolytic studies, which are essential for determining the type of kerogen and the maturity level of source rocks...
Geological Structure and Modelling of the KT-II Carbonate Reservoir of the Kozhasai Field (Eastern Flank of the Pre-Caspian Depression)

Issue date: 2020
Journal: ВЕСТНИК
Overview: This study presents the results of integrating geological and geophysical data—including regional geological and geophysical surveys, drilling results, core and cuttings analysis, 3D seismic interpretation, and borehole microimager data—for the Kozhasai field. The goal is to construct a comprehensive geological model of the reservoir...
